Note:
The objective in selecting the content for this book was to provide studies which will prepare the student for the Rose Etudes which appear in Artistic Studies from the French School.  When a student takes the time to prepare a thorough basic technique by working in this volume along with the Foundation Studies (containing the Baermann Method, Part III), the Rose Etudes can then be used for true artistic study as they were intended.  Unfortunately, the Rose Etudes are often introduced too early and the real musical value of these great studies goes unrealized.  Virtuosic technique and musical flair can be developed later with the Artistic Studies from the German and Italian Schools.
